Global climate change: is it fact or a myth?

Some facts

Even in XIX century scientists knew that carbon dioxide detains solar energy in the atmosphere and contributes warming of the earth surface. The worldwide use of different kinds of fossil fuel (oil, coal, gas) grow with development of Science-Technical Revolution and starting of Industrial Revolution, which increase concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Air temperature

According to the climate researches, climate warming on the north hemisphere in XX century was the strongest one in last 1000 years. The warmest decade was 1990-2000 period, and the year 1998 was the warmest one in XX century. And also it’s being known that night temperature increasing speed is significantly higher than daily ones.

Snow and glacier cover

It was observed that from the end of 60-es extension of snow and glacier cover decreased to 10-15%, and annual duration of rivers’ and lakes’ covering with ice decreased to 2 weeks.

World Ocean Level

World Ocean Level rose to 10-20cm during XX century. The cause of it was thermal expansion of sea water and polar glaciers melting caused by the global warming.

Global climate change is expressed in growing of number of hot days, droughts, floods, abrupt thaws and frosts, mud flows and heavy winds. According to the calculations of insurance companies, economical losses have reached 90 million $ rate per year.
